From the City of Santa Cruz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refugio Volcan & Samaipata 2 Days 1 Night 1st Day We pick you up at 8:00 A M to drive you on a highway to Refugio Volcan . All this highway is asphalted with the exception of some sections under construction. After about 2 hours and 79 Km we reach the village of Bermejo. From this place we take a dirt road entirely uphill for about 2 km. Until we stop at the entrance of Refugio Volcan at 900 Mts on sea level
When it rain enough this road get more complicated. Even to walk on In the Lodge guests are accommodated in their rooms with private bathrooms and showers. Lunch is scheduled after for a short walk of about one hour A short night walk with torches is possible if the visitors ask to the guide or manager of Refugio Volcan about it. During this night walk there is the possibility to find some armadillo or night monkeys among others things in the forest (About the time of the breakfast please coordinate with the persons in charge of Refugio Volcan 2nd Day Breakfast at 7:30 and then we said goodbye to Refugio Volcan. we need to meet the other vehicle that will take us to Samaipata Once in the other vehicle. We head to the main road to continue on to Samaipata, still 2 hours away. On the way to Samaipata we stop in a place called "Cuevas". Here we can enjoy the natural contour near a stream, which forms waterfalls especially in rainy season. In this place we may stay 40 minutes.
In this museum you can also see an explantory table which explains the cultures that have passed through the time in El Fuerte. Also in the museum you have the option to see a video about El Fuerte When the weather is cold in Samaipata or Santa cruz is very likely that up here it is much cooler. Upon ending this intereting visit to el Fuerte of Samaipata we return to the city of Santa Cruz at about 18:00 hours. Once in Santa Cruz we take you to your hotel End of our services. Thanks
