River Boat Trips - Reina Del Enin

From the city of Trinidad

7 days 6 Nights

1st day

Meet and assist at Trinidad airport. Transfer to Geralda Port (15 Km to the west) where we´ll embark on the Flotel Reina de Enin, In the morning we visit the San Mateo´s community, where we exchange experiences and we appreciate the local life´s style, in the company of Ms. Justa who is going to enjoy with us showing how is the life there. After walking we´ll have a bath in one of the most beautiful beaches in all the Mamoré river. Then and we start navigating along the largest river within Bolivian territory. Our first lay will bring us many opportunities for great wildlife viewing. Arrival to Mangalito´s Lagoon, where we´ll go to fish by boats to strategic places in the river to catch pirate and cat fishes. B+L+D

2nd day

Navigation to the yuracaré community of San Renato, meet with the villagers for experience exchange. In the late afternoon our guide will invite us for a refreshing bath in the Mamoré river. Continuing the afternoon we ongoing navigate south direction to Villa Victoria. B+L+D

3rd day

Our first activity after breakfast is a walking through the jungle for about 3hrs approximately, there we´ll enjoy the company of Mr. Jesús Montero, who is a inhabitant from the site and he´ll invite us fruit of the season and show us different representative flora species like: bibosi, coquino, ochoó, peloto, patujú and others, if we´re lucky we´ll see some mammals like squirrel monkeys and howler monkeys. Carry on with the navigation until we reach Estancia El Carmenhorseback riding excursion, for about 90 min through the forest and along the savanna. On our way back we will visit the facilities of the ranch and take a look at how cows and horses are handled. B+L+D cattle ranch. From there we will take a

4th day

Very early in the morning we´ll make an ornithological observation, walking by the jungle and open forest, on the El Carmen ranch, being possible the acknowledgement of more of 30 species, between the most important ones are the macaws, storks, herons, wood peckers, vultures, eagles and others. After our watching we´ll visit an island in the middle of the Mamoré river, where we take a bath in a beautiful beach. In the afternoon we continue navigating until Laguna Verde. At night after dinner, using a small aluminum motor boat we will go in a “photo safari” looking for the yacaré caimans, we´ll be able to see them so close.  B+L+D

5th day

In the morning we´ll navigate to the confluence of the Mamoré and Ibare, place with many animals for the presence of different water temperatures. So at this site we have the opportunity to swim with river dolphins or bufeos. In the afternoon we´ll take pleasure in a very nice beach. After dinner we have the option to go to the beach again, but this time in the company of one guitar and we´ll make a fire. B+L+D

6th day

Navigation to the mojeño community Villa del Carmen, site we´ll visit to take a look of the the chacos, where we´ll have the chance to see the small scale crops of: manioc, banana, cacao and sugar cane. To arrive there we´ll do a trekking by the forest for about half an hour where we would see different palm tree species used to make handicrafts by the local people. B+L+D

7th day

After breakfast we return to the connection to the Ibare river to say good bye to the friendly dolphins. Then we go to fish with the expert fishermen people from the Reina de Enín, who are going to take us to their favorite places and probably we´ll have fresh fish for our lunch.

Then we return to Trinidad, 45min navigation by boat, heading the port of la Loma Suarezcaimans, monkeys and many species of water birds. Once we reach the port, our van will be waiting to take us to the airport. B+L upstream. This a perfect opportunity to enjoy the gallery forest and look

Optional Activities

According with the passengers’ preference, the program can be changed to realize optional activities; we ask communicate before, or in other case organize it with the guide on board, the activities are:

-  A full day fishing, to the people who really enjoy of this activity, being possible to catch many different species, like: pacú, pirate fish, tambaquí, doradillo, ventón, tucunaré and others.

- Long horse riding, for about 3 hrs, to the Caracoré farm, passing through a beautiful landscape in the savanna.

-  Full day trekking, between the Mamoré and Ibare rivers, appreciating the natural resources better and having more chance to see animals.

-  Hiking to special bibosi trees, with the idea to get an incomparable landscape in the top of the tree.

1st day

Meet and assist at Trinidad airport. Transfer to Port Varador (16 Km to the west) where we will embark on the Flotel Reina de Enín, and start navigating through a network of lagoons until we reach the Mamoré river – the largest river within Bolivian territory. There we will meet with the river dolphins – they will escort us throughout our trip. In the afternoon we will enjoy fishing, bathing and swimming in the river, and wildlife viewing. L+D

2nd day

Navigation to the yuracaré community of San Renato, meet with the villagers for an experience exchange. In the late afternoon we´ll refresh ourselves with a bath in the Mamoré river, realizing tubing. Continuing the afternoon we ongoing navigate south direction to Villa Victoria. B+L+D

3rd day

Our first activity after breakfast is a walking through the jungle for about 3hrs approximately, there we´ll enjoy the company of Mr. Jesús Montero, who is a inhabitant from the site and he´ll invite us fruit of the season and show us different representative flora species like: bibosi, coquino, ochoó, peloto, patujú and others, if we´re lucky we´ll see some mammals like squirrel monkeys and howler monkeys.

In the afternoon we will explore the group of lagoons at Victoria. This is a perfect opportunity to have a close view of the Pink Dolphins or bufeos. Once we reach the lagoons a low-noise outboard motorboat will take us into small tributaries surrounded by periodically inundated gallery forests. B+L+D

4th day

Very early in the morning we´ll have navigation until we reach Estancia El Carmen cattle ranch. From there we will take a horseback riding excursion, for about 90 min through the forest and along the savanna, having a chance to see many kind of birds like storks, herons, macaws and eagles. On our way back we will visit the facilities of the ranch and take a look at how cows and horses are handled. Then we´ll continue navigating to Laguna Verde to take a bath there. At night after dinner, using a small aluminum motor boat we will go in a “photo safari” looking for the yacaré caimans, we´ll be able to see them so close.  B+L+D

5th day

Ongoing our navigation to Soledad Lagoon, this is the way we will enter two lagoons to look for the voracious piranhas (which will later serve as a delicious dinner). After that is turn to have navigation towards the confluence of the Mamoré and Ibare rivers, where many animal species meet due to the differences of water temperatures at this particular place, where we have the opportunity to swim with river dolphins or bufeos or enjoy of a very nice beach in front of it. 6th day

Today the navigation changes completely, because we go for a different river: Ibare (narrower, warmer and with different color of water). We stop at San Carlos, where we´ll visit Ms. Ignacia, inhabitant from the place, who is going to give us a canoe to enjoy a very nice lagoon, having the experience of paddling like local people. Then we continue navigating to Loma Suarez port. B+L+D

7th day

In the morning we continue navigating to Ballivian port. In this location we´ve many wildlife viewing opportunities on our way, including caimans, river dolphins, capybaras, monkeys, turtles, and lots of bird species of course. Then we´ll have a excursion to an artificial hill, arqueological site with very rich history, where we´ll have the pleasure to exchange some words with residents from the area. At the end of the afternoon we move to the port, where we´ll be transferred to the airport for our continuing flight. B+L
