5 Days 4 Nights

Day 1

08:30 Departure by motorized boat from Rurre to the Madidi Park. Our boats are equipped with comfortable seat, life vests, rain ponchos and roof. The trip up the Beni and Tuichi Rivers takes three hours and is a great opportunity to see the flora, fauna and impressive landscape that Madidi has to offer, such as the Bala Canyon.

11:00 Arrival at Caquiahuara where you will have the chance to observe the nesting wall used by the red and green macaws and other species of parrots. (Bird sighting can be done anytime during the year, however, it is more frequent from July to October). The trip then continues to the Madidi Jungle Ecolodge.

13:00 Arrival at the Madidi Jungle Ecolodge and accommodation in Traditional cabin, with shared bathrooms.

14:00 Lunch and opportunity to relax in the hammocks

15:00 A 3-4 hour guided walk along the Tareche Trail to the Aguapolo Creek. This is an opportunity to observe a variety of bird species, mainly macaws and parrots, and appreciated the surrounding tropical rainforest. There is the possibility during this walk to observe many different species of primate and mammal. The common species observed include the white lipped peccary, the black spider monkey and the red howler monkey. After watching the landscape and the surrounding tropical rainforest, we return to the Ecolodge.

19:30 Dinner at Ecolodge and resting time.

Day 2

07:30 Breakfast at the Ecolodge.

08:00 A 4 hour guided walk along the Mapajo Trail. Along this trail, you can appreciate the giant trees of the Amazon jungle.  Accompanied by a local guide, who will provide an in-depth explanation of the diverse species of plants used for medicinal, practical and the ancestral purposes it is great opportunity to understand and appreciate the ecosystems and observe the pristine environment.

12:30 Lunch at the Ecolodge and free time.

15:00 A 3-4 hour guided walk along the Biwa Trail, where black spider monkey are often encountered.  This is an opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife such as the white lipped peccary, black spider monkey, red howler monkey, toucans, guans and many more birds. At this trail we stop at the natural Aguapolo scenic viewpoint, which is ideal to observe the rainforest. Return to the Ecolodge.

19:30 Diner at the Ecolodge.

20:30 A night walk into the jungle to observe the nocturnal wildlife. During this walk you will be able to listen to the jungle symphony produced by the variety of nocturnal animals and insects.

Day 3

07:30 Breakfast at the Ecolodge.

08:00 A 4-5 hour guided walk along Pava Cullpana Trail which is considered the longest Trail, this is an opportunity to observe a large Salt Lick, particular area in the rainforest where various animal gather to obtain important mineral salt from the substrata, and at this site many large mammal prints can be seen. It is a great opportunity to observe the white lipped peccary, brown capuchin monkey, red howler monkey, saddleback tamarin monkey, guans and toucans. Return to the Ecolodge.

13:00 Lunch at the Ecolodge and free time (In the dry season enjoy a refreshing swim in the river Tuichi)

15:00 A short boat trip upstream Tuichi river. Along this river, you will have a chance for fishing activity. The common species are catfish. After fishing activity you will experience an exciting ride in rubber inner tubes, combining the fast-paced rapids of the Tuichi River, with calmer periods where you will have a chance to relax and enjoy the authentic natural environment. We will provide life jacket for your safety and you will be accompanied by experiences local guides. We offer Tubing activity commonly from April to October.

19:30 Diner at the Ecolodge and free time.

Optional Activity Day 3: Full Day trip to Santa Rosa Lake. We take a boat up river for two hour and then take short walk to view this spectacular Lake. The lake is a fantastic place to canoeing, fish for piranhas and view wildlife we will have lunch on the bank of the lake before returning to the Ecolodge. Please note this activity cost an additional 50$us per group (2-6people) to cover the additional boat transportation to and from the lake.

Day 4

07:30 Breakfast at the Ecolodge.

08:00 A 4 hour guided walk along Dati Trail to the place called by local “Chaco”. After arriving to the Chaco, the local guide will give you an explanation about traditional banana, yucca, pineapple and sugarcane plantations. It is a great opportunity to learn more about how the indigenous people cultivate local plants in a traditional way in the rainforest for survival. These organic products you will eat during your stay in Madidi. Return to the Ecolodge.

12:30 Lunch at the Ecolodge and free time.

15:00 After a resting time accompany by the local guide you will have an opportunity to make your local hand make handicrafts such as ring or collar. Other optional activity included fishing piranha in a creek closer to Tuichi River.

19:30 Traditional dinner at the Ecolodge. Dunucuavi (Catfish rapped in leave)

20:30 A talk provided on the history of the local Uchupiamonas Indigenous Community.

Day 5

07:30 Breakfast at the Ecolodge.

08:00 A 3-4 hour guided walk along the Wabu Trail, to the place called “Cullpana”, which is a particular area in the rainforest where various animal gather to obtain important mineral salt from the substrata. Also in this area some animals use the mud pools as bathing area. This trail offers the possibility to observe white lipped peccary, brown capuchin monkey, tapirs track, toucan, guans, and many different birds. Return to the Ecolodge, stopping at the natural Tuichi scenic viewpoint.

12:30 Lunch at the Ecolodge and free time.

13:30 Return to Rurrenabaque. On the return trip, it is a great opportunity to see exotic species such as the black caiman, capybara, tapir or the giant river otter. The return trip by boat takes two hours.

15:30 Arrival in Rurrenabaque. Transportation to the airport or hotel accommodation (not included in price of program).
