From The City of Santa Cruz

At 07:30 A.M. we will pick you up to take you to the town of Concepcion located 476 kilometers away (767.74 miles) This trip will be done on a paved road, passing by several towns and villages of people that moved people from the high lands of bolivia to the low lands of Santa Cruz. Also we may see some Mennonites´ colonies.

This trip is crossing an agricultural area, which grows soybean, sunflower, and several types of other grains. There, we can also realize the relentless advance of the agricultural frontier from 30 Kilometers (48.38 Miles) off Santa Cruz.

The trip to Concepcion takes approximately 5 hours.

On the way we will stop in San Javier with 12.00 inhabitants and on 542 meters on sea level.

In San Javier, a town with indigenous background, founded in the year 1691 by the Jesuits.

In this town in company of a guide we will visit its famous Jesuit church and the museum.

This guide will tells about how the the work of the jesuits to change the culture of the natives of the chiquitania and others details about it.

Lunch in San Ramon o San Javier
. Then we continue to Concepcion.

Concepcion is on 534 meters above sea level and it has around 15.000 inhabitants, largely Zamucos´ background. And other tribes gathered here the time of the Jesuits, although there are also people of foreign background

In Concepcion we visit the Church and the museums.

The guide for this town will tells about the restauration process, and details about the organization of the jesuits

After this we must return to the city of santa cruz where we should be back about late evening

2nd Day

After breakfast we will start visiting the Museums, and the church and maybe the craft work shops all this with a specialist guide.

This guide will tell us about the work done by the jesuits and about the restauration process

We also may visit some souvenir shops and other places of interest

Concepcion is on 534 meters above sea level and it has around 15.000 inhabitants, largely Chiquitanos´ background. And other tribes gathered here the time of the Jesuits, although there are also people of foreign background.

This town was founded by the Jesuits in the year 1708 with 10 different tribes, each of these tribes then spoke different languages and worship different gods, each of these gods represented the nature.

We need to leave Concepcion towards Santa Cruz about 10:30, so our time lunch is going to be around San Ramon or San Javier. This will depend on how our itinerary is going.

We will reach Santa Cruz about 16:00 hours to bring you to your place.

Public Transportation

1er Noche

A las 19:30 P.M. estaremos traslandonos en taxi a la terminal de buses para abordar el transporte publico con destino a al poblacion de Concepcion.

Concepcion se encuentra a unos 534 metros sobre el nivel del mar y tiene cerca de 15000 habitantes, en su gran mayoria descendiente de tribus nativas juntadas aquí durante la epoca del dominio Jesuitico, aunque tambien viven es esta poblacion personas decendientes o llegadas de otras partes de Bolivia y el extranjero.

El recorrido desde Santa Cruz a este destino será en camino asfaltado y pasara por varias poblaciones y comunidades de gente venida del Altiplano Boliviano y colonias Menonitas.

En este viaje atravesaremos una gran area de agricultura, donde se cultiva principalmente la Soya y el Girasol. Aquí podremos darnos cuenta del avance “imparable” de la frontera de la agricultura.

Concepcion fue fundada por los jesuitas en el año 1708 con 10 diferentes tribus, todas estas tribus hablaban diferentes lenguajes y adoraban diferentes dioses todos representados en la Naturaleza.

El viaje a Concepcion nos tomara aproximadamente unas 5 horas.

Hospedaje en Concepcion.

1er Dia

Despues de un descanso en el hotel , ducha y el desayuno, se empieza el recorrido en este pintoresco pueblo, conociendo la plaza principal y visitando la iglesia y museos de este destino. Todo esto es en compañía de un guia conocedor del tema.

Durante la visita tanto al museo e iglesia contaremos con la explicación del guia especializado que nos contara también de construcción y el proceso de restauración del los templos jesuitos, y detalles de la organización de estas reducciones

En las primeras horas de la tarde tomaremos el bus de transporte publico con destino a San Javier. Este recorrido es de a aproximadamente 1 hora.

San Javier tiene unos 12000 habitantes y se encuentra a unos 542 metros sobre el nivel del mar. San Javier también cuenta con una gran descendencia nativa fundada en el año 1691 por los Jesuitas.

En esta población visitaremos la iglesia y el museo misional en compañía también de un guía especializado que nos mostrara las diferentes partes de la iglesia y nos dara una explicación de la metodología usada por los Jesuitas para implementar los cambios que hoy toca vivir a estos pueblos y su area de influencia.

Aquí también un guía hara una explicación detallada de los objetos expuestos mas una explicación del trabajo echo en la restauración de las iglesias jesuitas, Si el tiempo lo permite tambien visitaremos algunas tiendas de artesanias.

Despues de acabar con las visitas programadas en este destino, eñ guia nos embarcamos en un vehiculo de servicio publico con destino a la ciudad de Santa Cruz.
