A Short Descripcion of the Giant Ferns

From the city of Santa Cruz you may visit more than one forest of these  Giants Ferns. These forest is in the Integrated Management Area of Amboro National Park. It located abut 4 hours from the city, 3 hours on a paved highway and 1 hour on dirt roads.

These roads goes through the communities up hills towards Amboro National park.

The Giants Ferns grow according to studies at a pace of 2 millimeters per year.

The sea level where you can find is 2400 Mts.

When you visit these Ferns you are able to approach to them and even touch them.

Also you can see some ferns of 13 meters high

These amazing creatures are about 3000 years old.

Depending on the places you visit them you may find trails through the ferns forest.
