• Itinerary of  2  Day 1 Night  Refugio Volcan (Private Transport)

From the City of Santa Cruz

Refugio Volcan

2 Days 1 Night

1st Day

We pick you up at  8:00 A M to  drive  you on a highway to Refugio Volcan . All this  highway  is  asphalted  with the exception of some sections under construction.

After about 2 hours and 79 Km we reach the village of Bermejo. From this place we take a dirt road entirely  uphill for about 2 km. Until  we  stop at the entrance of Refugio Volcan at 900 Mts on sea level

From this point we either hike or drive down on a narrow road which is special for a smaller vehicles  This path is  almost completely  downhill. The vehicle for this path is usually smaller than the one we have used so far

When it  rain enough this road get  more complicated, even to walk on

We get down to the hotel after about 40 minutes on a vehicle. It is  at  small plain  surrounded by large sandstone mountains

In the Lodge guests are accommodated in their rooms with private bathrooms and showers. Lunch is scheduled  after for a short walk of about one hour

The afternoon will be for a longer  hike of about 3 to 4 hours. Also the visitors can enjoy the natural pools near by.

A short night walk with torches  is possible  if the visitors ask  to the guide or manager of Refugio Volcan about it. During this night walk there is the possibility to find some armadillo or night monkeys among others things in the forest

Dinner and Overnight in Refugio Volcan.

About the time of the breakfast please coordinate with the persons in charge of Refugio Volcan

The Hikes in the afternoon and evening should be remembered to the people in of Refgio Volcan

2nd  Day

After breakfast,  we start a hiking  along one of the trails from the  Lodge. During this hike we  pass through at least one natural pool and or waterfall. On these trails youmay see monkeys and birds, but we do not garrantee it

At approximately 15:00 hours,  the vehicle  responsible to bring the visitors  to the top will have to be ready. for it  Please, if the coordinator of Amboro Tours is not with you, remember the the guide of Refugio about it.

The vehicle that will bring you back to the city of Santa Cruz, will be on  orther  road  at 15:30.

We  will be getting to Santa Cruz about 18:00 hours
